We had another amazing week at Desert Willow! We kicked off our Kindness Challenge Fundraiser this week and have already seen so many acts of kindness. In specials many students checked out books recommended by DWE teachers in COIL and in art there was so much creativity and fun! Our amazing counselor Mrs. "Coolman" Coleman has been teaching students across campus about their brains! Ask your kiddo about turtle brain and porcupine brain!

We had an amazing short week here at Desert Willow. Students started checking out books the library, there was lots of learning across campus, and the two of our 5th grade classes have started their Starbase field trips!

Today was an incredible first day of school! All across campus there was so much joy and excitement! Our students review school and classroom procedures, made connections with classmates, and even reviewed some math! This is going to be an amazing school year Diamondbacks!

There was so much fun and celebration at Desert Willow this week - all week! Monday we had the rest of our Caught in the ACT Assemblies. Tuesday was our Kindergarten Graduation and Wednesday was our 5th Grade Promotions. We loved celebrating our youngest learners finishing their first year of elementary school and the end of the elementary chapter of our 5th Graders' school journey. Thursday morning we had our Caught in the ACT Breakfast and in the afternoon 1st Grade cooled off during their water day. Today we had our 5th Grade Parade to send our 5th Graders to middle school in style!

What an incredible year we've had at Desert Willow Elementary! 🌟 As we kick off summer break, we want to share our summer hours with you! We will see you again on July 10 for our Open House Meet the Teacher Night from 5:30-7:00 pm! 🏖️✨
